Rose Heart Bouquet By Allen Perez
Use this recipe to create a beautiful presentation to your lover or significant other! This dish was designed to be customizable in which you can have the Red Heart Pasta represent the age for someone's birthday or the years a couple has been together or married for. As the name of the dish states, this is inspired by the image of a bouquet of roses. The Red Heart pasta are the roses, the Green Olive Leaf Pasta are the leaves/stems of the rose, and the cheese represents the baby's-breath flower seen accompanying most bouquets.
Ingredients: -Donne Del Grano Red Heart Pasta -Donne Del Grano Green Leaf Pasta -Gradassi Garlic Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil -pinch of salt -parsley flakes -Ricotta Salata cheese or some other crumbly type of cheese -Optional: A glass or fancy bowl to put the pasta in for presentation
Preparation:
1) Prepare 2 separate pots for boiling the Red Heart Pasta and Green Olive Leaf Pasta. Bring water to a boil for each pot and then lower temperature to about medium. This is to help prevent the pasta from breaking apart in water that is too hot.
2) Add a pinch of salt and olive oil into the water for prepping of cooking the pasta
3) Choose the amount of Red Heart Pasta as desired and place them in the first pot. Next, grab a good amount of Green Olive Leaf Pasta that is greater in number than the Red Heart Pasta and place them in the second pot. The reason more is needed is because it will fill in about 2/3 of the bowl so that the Red Heart Pasta will sit on top of the Green Olive Leaf and be near the top. It's recommended to cook the pasta al dente style.
4) Once the pasta are done, drain the water and place each pasta in their own bowl. Let is sit and cool for about 5 minutes.
5) Drizzle some of the Garlic Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil in both bowls. Stir each bowl so the pasta in each bowl gets some olive oil on it.
6) Begin to layout the pasta in the bowl by starting with the Olive Leaf Pasta.**Fill in the bowl about 2/3 of the way through, and then place more near the edge of the bowl so that it fans outward.
7) Crumble some of the cheese into small pieces onto the Green Olive Leaf Pasta.
8) Start placing the Red Heart Pasta and arranging it as seen in the picture or however you prefer to display them. Crumble a bit more of cheese on top of the Red Hearts Pasta.
9) Sprinkle the parsley to add the finishing touch.
10) Pasta can be eaten warm or cold. Recommended to eat with some type of meat like steak
**This step will change depending on the amount of pasta needed
